Blogging – It’s the Content, Ever the Content

Hi guys

Well, sometimes in this world you come full circle.

Content, Content, Content is King.

If you are an old hand at Internet Marketing, Web Publishing or Blogging, you should know by now that content rules. And without fail I have seen one thing on the web.

If Your Content is not Helpful for People, YOU WILL FAIL.

I think a general rule of life is that if you aren’t helpful, you’ll fail. I know unhappy people and happy people, and to a one they are different in one way: the happy people are helpful. The unhappy people tend to be selfish.

But how does this rule relate to making money blogging, or internet marketing?

Simple-You are marketing to, or blogging for PEOPLE

Lots of us forget that. We have the ability to produce thin, bad sites that are really targeted at getting a few clicks from Google and then hoping that the hapless souls that came leave us a few pennies.

But like any business, they will never come back, and will never trust you again.

If you build garbage sites long enough, Google will find you and de index you.

It’s a natural progression in things to try and do them easier and possibly in an automated way, but web content must not be one of those. You need to honestly help people, and be inspired by that.

I’ve learned to start a site with my customers in mind. When I started on the web the WHOLE purpose of the internet was to provide information and entertainment. And the sites that have done this in droves have become the mainstays of our time. Amazon, Ebay, Yahoo, Facebook.

But cluttering up this purity are the people who try and use article spinners badly, automate content so it’s unreadable, and generally are in a race to stay one step ahead of Google’s ability to find bad bad people.

I want to close this page by appealing to all of my readers, new and old.

Be Helpful, when you plan a site. Ask who needs what you are about to do. Think of them, their happiness, theirs well being.

Make, write or have written good, good content. Give them what they need. Nourish them.

When you help people, there is a multiplying energy. They want to help you back.

And with a very short amount of time, you’ll find yourself with a web site, or blog, or e commerce site that has happy customers, high traffic, and buyers who buy from you because they love the site.

I’ve been able to achieve something like that with a little example:

I help the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration market their wonderful Shea butter soap with a touch of holy water. You can find it under Holy Water Soap.

I go to bed each night proud and happy to help them. And everyone who buys the soap can’t believe how wonderful it is. You can purchase some too, and help the nuns out.

The important lesson is in the content. Then temptation of the web is to get away with stealing clicks from the people who leave your site to get away from your junk content. Don’t be that site.

Give visitors what they came searching for, and OVER DELIVER.

I’ve spent my time in the lure of auto content. Please don’t give in to that.

And help you visitors. Always help.
